The way each of us relates to ourselves and others determines the most important aspects of our lives… working with me, you can discover how outdated beliefs and patterns of behavior affect you, and how this impedes having the life you long for.
About Paula Love
I can say that I’ve always been drawn to my profession because even from a very early age, I understood the importance of relationships and our deep need as humans to have them.
In my own family and in the communities of people around me, I saw how undeniably central relationships are in life and in love. Some seemed to work while others failed. I obsessed over this, often asking questions of people I met who seemed to have long lasting, mutually rewarding relationships.
In my formal studies, I learned how relationships of all kinds—friendships, family, professional, couples and even our relationships to ourselves—are the key to a rich and fulfilling life. I also learned how and why we struggle, and how we can make changes as individuals so that all our relationships in life and love can flourish beyond anything we’ve experienced before.
What does this kind of transformation look like? What does “flourishing” feel like?
As I see it, the way each of us relates to ourselves and others determines the most important aspects of our lives: how we love, what we can accomplish, how others view us, and the pleasure we take in living. By shifting the way you engage in personal or professional relationships—or both—we can open doors to a whole new way of being, working, and living.
How is this work different?
I have clients who say they tried other things, but this is what actually worked for them. What you know or don’t know about somatics or neurobiotics is not important. What is important, is that I will listen with exquisite attention to learn who you are. This way, our approach is highly individualized to match your style of becoming. If this sounds a little heavy or frightening, my clients frequently comment that I bring warmth and compassion to even the most direct conversations. There’s a lot of laughter in my office. Life is serious enough: I believe it’s important to bring a touch of lightheartedness—even to the most critical tasks.
“I want to understand people so well, that I can feel what they’re feeling and see where they are. In a way, I’m like a firefighter making a rescue— I go in and get people, and bring them out.” – Paula Love
This is my work and my passion. I rely on compassion, humor, humility, wisdom and specific skills gained from both extensive professional training and long experience.
Working with me, you can discover how outdated beliefs and patterns of behavior affect you, and how this impedes having the life you long for.
I began my professional life as a therapist, with an MS in counseling and a BA in psychology from San Francisco State University. Wanting to try my hand with organizations and teams, I moved into corporate work in 1988 at Lockheed, where I served as an OD consultant and Executive Coach for six years. That led me to reconnect with my passion that people be able to build more constructive and fulfilling relationships, which tends to require moving beyond the habits they happened to form in early years. I undertook further training to get to the deepest levels: that study continues to this day, through courses too numerous to name (though I’d be glad to speak with you about them if you’re interested.)
I’m a Certified Master Somatic Coach by Strozzi Institute, a Certified Ontological Coach by Newfield Group and an NLP Master Practitioner. Most importantly, I’m a seasoned guide to flourishing by means of robust, satisfying relationships.
